# NeatListing

> NeatListing is a free, hosted MCP server that lets AI assistants (Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, Grok and any other MCP client) edit Google Business Profiles, formerly called Google My Business (GMB). The owner signs in with Google once. No Google API approval, Google Cloud project or credit card is needed.

## Setup

- Claude Code: install the plugin with `claude plugin marketplace add neatlisting/neatlisting` and `claude plugin install neatlisting@neatlisting`, or add only the server with `claude mcp add --transport http --scope user neatlisting https://app.neatlisting.com/mcp`, then run `/mcp` and authenticate.
- Codex: `codex mcp add neatlisting --url https://app.neatlisting.com/mcp`, then `codex mcp login neatlisting`.
- Claude (web, desktop, mobile): Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, URL https://app.neatlisting.com/mcp.
- ChatGPT: turn on developer mode, create an app with URL https://app.neatlisting.com/mcp and OAuth.
- Cursor: add `{"mcpServers": {"neatlisting": {"url": "https://app.neatlisting.com/mcp"}}}` to ~/.cursor/mcp.json.
- Grok: on grok.com, Connectors → New Connector → Custom, paste https://app.neatlisting.com/mcp. Grok Build: `grok mcp add --transport http neatlisting https://app.neatlisting.com/mcp`. Grok Bot: ask it to add a custom MCP server at that address.

## What agents can do

- Profile: hours, special hours, more hours, description, services, labels, open status, website, phone, secondary categories, attributes
- Posts, offers and events: list, create, update, delete
- Reviews: list, reply, delete a reply
- Photos: list, add, delete
- Booking and order links, food menus, lodging details
- Performance: calls, direction requests, website clicks, bookings and views for up to 18 months; search keywords
- Verification status and steps
- The agent's own change history, with undo
- Setup and approvals in the chat: choose locations, set rules, approve or reject waiting changes

## Safety rules

- Business name, address, primary category and service area are locked by default. The owner can open them up by telling their agent, after the agent reads them a warning.
- Website and phone changes wait for the owner's approval by default; owners choose what else needs approval.
- Owners approve waiting changes by telling their agent (`approve_change`) or in the NeatListing dashboard. High-risk approvals need the owner's own words after the agent reads them a warning, and those words are kept in the activity log.
- Pace limits and keyword-stuffing checks guard against edits that get profiles suspended.
- Adding or removing managers, transferring or deleting profiles are not available to agents.
- Each agent sees only the locations the owner allowed.
